LineCheck Terms of Service

Welcome to LineCheck! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LineCheck web application (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. The Service

LineCheck is a recipe and cost management application designed to help users calculate and track the costs of their ingredients and recipes.

3. User Accounts

Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login information and for all activities that occur under your account.

Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering for the Service.

4. User-Generated Content (Recipes and Costs)

Ownership:You retain all ownership rights to content you create, upload, or store on the Service, including recipes, ingredient lists, cost data, and any other materials (collectively, "User Content"). LineCheck does not claim ownership of your User Content.

License Grant: By using the Service, you grant LineCheck a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your User Content or your account.

Aggregated Data: LineCheck may use anonymized, aggregated data derived from User Content (such as average ingredient costs by region) to improve the Service. This aggregated data will not identify you or your specific recipes.

Privacy: Your User Content is private by default. LineCheck will not publish your recipes or associate them publicly with your name or account without your explicit consent.

Data Portability:You may export your User Content at any time through the Service's export features. Upon account deletion, your data will be retained for 30 days to allow recovery, after which it will be permanently deleted.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any defects will be corrected.

6. Data Storage, Reliability, and Backups

Cloud Storage: You acknowledge that all data, including your User Content, is stored securely on cloud-based servers. While we strive for high availability, the Service may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, technical issues, or factors outside of our control.

Data Loss Risk: We perform routine data backups but we do not guarantee the permanent availability or restorable nature of your data. You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for maintaining your own independent backups of any critical data or User Content stored on LineCheck, and we shall not be liable for any loss or corruption of your data.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Infringe upon the rights of others.
• Transmit viruses, malware, or any other destructive code.
• Upload or display any images or visual content that is not strictly related to food, ingredients, or recipes.

8. Subscriptions and Billing

Plans: LineCheck has a free tier and paid plans: Pro at $6 per month and Pro+ at $15 per month. Paid plans are billed monthly for each location. The price for your locations is shown before you buy, and sales tax is added where required, including in Texas.

Automatic Renewal: A paid plan is a subscription. It renews automatically every month at the then-current price, plus applicable taxes, and is charged to the payment method on file until you cancel.

Free Trials: If we offer a free trial, it turns into a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. We will email you a reminder before a trial converts.

Cancelling:You can cancel anytime online in Settings → Billing (manage subscription). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period. You keep paid features until then, and you will not be charged again.

Refunds: Fees are non-refundable, and we do not prorate partial periods, except where the law requires it.

Price Changes: We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.

Failed Payments: If a payment fails, we will retry it and let you know. If it still fails, we may move your account to the free tier or suspend paid features. We do not delete your data because a payment failed.

Payment Processing: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service and your account immediately, at our sole discretion, with or without cause, and without prior notice or liability. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

10. Limitation of Liability

LineCheck and its affiliates will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any inaccuracy in cost calculations, pricing data, or financial loss resulting therefrom; or (iv) any failure of allergen, nutritional, or other health-related warnings or information provided by the Service. You acknowledge that the Service is a tool and not a substitute for professional accounting, health, or food safety consultation.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of any material changes. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
